What does laser hair removal cost at Ophelia Clinics?
Prices depend on the area. For women, one treatment of the upper lip costs € 60,00, the underarms € 90,00 and full legs € 370,00. A package of 6 treatments costs the same as 5 single treatments. There are separate prices for men, combination packages and a full body treatment for € 799,00. The complete price list is on our Treatments and prices page.
How many laser sessions do I need?
With the Candela GentleMax Pro Plus most clients need 6 to 8 sessions, depending on hair thickness, skin type and the treated area. Sessions are 4 to 6 weeks apart, or 3 to 5 weeks for the face. During the free consultation we make a personal treatment plan, and the calculator on our homepage gives a first estimate.
Is laser hair removal suitable for dark or tanned skin?
Yes. The GentleMax Pro Plus combines two lasers: the 755 nm Alexandrite laser for lighter skin and the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, which is the safest choice for dark or tanned skin. This makes it suitable for all skin types (Fitzpatrick I to VI).
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most clients find it very tolerable. The laser has a built-in Dynamic Cooling Device™ that cools the skin with a short burst of cryogen just before every laser pulse, which makes the treatment far more comfortable than older lasers or IPL.
Will my health insurance reimburse the treatment?
Possibly. Ophelia Clinics holds the required medical AGB codes, so some treatments can be reimbursed, such as facial laser hair removal (PCL-075-7006), acne therapy and camouflage therapy. Whether you are covered depends on your policy, so please check with your health insurer.
How do I prepare for a laser treatment?
Shave the area one day before your appointment. Do not wax, epilate or pluck in the 4 weeks before, and avoid sunbathing and tanning beds in the 2 weeks before. We explain everything during your free consultation.
Where is Ophelia Clinics and when are you open?
Ophelia Clinics is at Grote Noord 107, 1621 KH Hoorn, in the centre of Hoorn (Noord-Holland). We are open Wednesday to Saturday from 09:30 to 18:00 and on Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00 by appointment only. We are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Which other treatments and products do you offer?
Besides laser hair removal for women and men, we offer brow and lash treatments, such as eyebrow wax and tint for € 50,00. We are the only official Thalgo reseller in the Hoorn region and sell Thalgo skin care in our shop.
Is Ophelia Clinics certified?
Yes. Ophelia Clinics is ANBOS certified, and our team is trained in medical laser protocols and safety standards.
